The powdered horror

In my previous post, I mentioned how much I've begun to enjoy bottled tea.
I also said I'm NOT fond of powdered instant tea.
Ever since then, I've been thinking: Wouldn't it be an awful trick if that's actually how the bottles of tea are mass-produced? Instead of boiling water and carefully letting the leaves steep in it, maybe they have a pre-made sweetened tea-flavored powder they just mix into cold water, and the automated machines just squirt it into bottle after bottle after bottle after bottle....
**sob**
I can't bear to think of it... yet the more I think of it, the more I realize that's probably how it's done..

I guess you could watch How It's Made on History channel. Maybe they'll do an episode about how tea is made and bottled.

Hey, at least they don't process the tea through live animals.

At least I don't think they do.

Well, maybe they do.

Dang I am glad I don't drink bottled tea.

Later Y'all.

Don't be a tea snob - either it tickles your taste buds or it doesn't.

well i know our raspberry tea at the restaurant is syrup added to water, just like the sodas, but i think the bottled stuff, especially lipton, is actually brewed. unsweetened tea is the best tho, no high fructose corn syrup or anything. yummy!

Yip it probably is from powder just like bottled water is straight from the tap.

I love hot and cold tea. My favorite is sun brewed, then Peach, and however its made is good enough for me. ;-)

Hugs,

That's how it's made by Pepsico and Coca-cola. There are some REALLY good brands out there, like Tradewinds, who brew their bottled ice tea.
