Those of you who play Scrabulous on Facebook might be interested in knowing that there's a different version coming out. It's made by the people who created "Scrabble" in the first place. (Hasbro). They e-mailed me to ask if I would be willing to help them beta-test it.
They said they did a search for people who liked Scrabulous, so maybe they saw my Jannaverse post about the great Scrabulous battle between me and Fab.
I accepted, and for the past couple days I've been trying out the new version, seeing if it works, seeing if I can find any obvious bugs in the application.
For the most part, it works fine. There are some small issues which they'll probably address later, but I like it. I love Scrabulous too, of course. They each have their pros and cons.
Here's what Scrabulous looks like, for those of you who don't know:
And here's what the beta version of Hasbro's Scrabble looks like:
I'll go into more detail when the beta testing is complete.
For now, though, I have a ton of wooden letter tiles coursing through my brain.

wow, I'm really excited for this. Perhaps we can play a game against each other when the full version comes out :)
Since I consider Scrabble a blood sport, get rid of those bugs and we can have a game.
I got invited to the Beta test, and signed up for it, and never heard back! Darnit!
You lucky dog to get to beta test! It looks like fun. ;)
That's pretty cool. I've gotten to playtest some of the games my company develops. It's pretty fun.
