There's a new company called GreenRoad which has developed some cool new technology. It measures driving safety! Somehow it's able to detect driving maneuvers that enable it to asses the driver's safety level, then it transmits that data to an Internet site. Drivers can then go to that site and receive feedback on what they can do to improve their driving safety.
It's lowered customers' accident rates by 54%!
The technology seems to be focused on business drivers and insurance companies that insure teenage drivers.
So far GreenRoad sounds like a good idea to me.
I could log on and hear it say "Dear Janna, you really shouldn't have gone 50 in a 35 zone yesterday. And those red octagon things are STOP signs, not 'sort of slow down' signs...."
