Destined for a watery grave

If it's true that re-using plastic water bottles is dangerous, then I am certainly destined for destruction.
I've been re-filling them from gallons of spring water (or distilled water) I buy at the store. It's SO much cheaper that way.
I'd drink water straight from the tap, if it didn't taste like utter crap.
Wow.
That rhymed.

So long as you wash the bottles you re-use every few refills, there really is ZERO safety issues.
It's an urban myth that you can get cancer or poisoned or whatever by reusing water bottles - started, I believe by the Big Cola people who want you to keep buying Dasani and Aquafina.

I'm with you - I bought a Brita pitcher and have been refilling water bottles.
Our tap water here is yukko.

Morgen: If I ever get to visit, I will try to remember to bring a bunch of bottled water!

I think if you microwave them there's some problem... for instance, if you put some water in there and screw the lid on really tight and microwave it till it boils... well that might be a problem. I wouldn't do that.

Marilyn: It would make a fun science experiment, though!
